PruProtect has announced its gender pipeline strategy with two deadline dates and an improved application system.
The rates will be gender-neutral until the 21 December for all products except for whole of life which has a 3 November deadline.
As long as the policy is accepted before the deadline dates gender-specific rates will apply and clients can choose a start date within 90 days of the terms having been accepted.
Phil Jeynes, head of account development at PruProtect, said: "The 90 days' window is good news for those who are thinking about linking the cover to a mortgage that may not have been completed of example.
"Our pipeline is pretty quick because only around 6% result in a GP reports which slow it down. The exception is whole of life because we know that underwriting goes through quite slowly hence the two different dates."
The improved application system will go live later this month in an aim to achieve a higher straight-through underwriting rate and support the pipeline volumes. There will also be a team of 120 account managers on hand.
Jeynes said: "In terms of what happens to quotes that are going through, our system will automatically generate quotes for anything in the pipeline.
"Every provider has done something a little bit different. We have done a clear and simple strategy that we are confident about."
He added there had not been overwhelming demand from brokers on what the new rates would be, but rather for more clarity around pipeline strategy.
Aviva and Friends Life are the big names still yet to announce their gender pipeline strategies.
