ABI members with staff neurodiversity policy nearly doubles

Women within executive teams have grown to 32%

The number of members of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) with a specific policy in place to support neurodiverse employees in the workplace has nearly doubled to 24% from 14% in 2021.

According to the ABI, nearly half (47%) of insurance and long-term savings firms now collect data on neurodiversity within their organisation, up from 40% in 2021 and 27% in 2020. Last year, the association launched a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Blueprint strategy to improve DEI across the sector over the next five years. A key target of the DEI Blueprint was to secure at least 50 signatories to the government's Women in Finance Charter and Business in the Community's Race at Work Charter, the ABI noted, and 50 and 57 signatories have been received respectively.
