PruHealth PMI sales through non-specialist IFAs have trebled in the last three years.
The provider said that RDR was a clear driving factor but that also adviser businesses were becoming "much smarter".
David Priestley, sales director at PruHealth, said: "What we are seeing happening with RDR is that protection generally may be a more appealing opportunity for those focusing on wealth management and health could be a part of that.
"But it is not purely down to RDR. Advisers are working in better ways with their clients and broadening their relationships with them. They are broadening what they offer and their skills to develop their businesses."
PruHealth confirmed to COVER in July that it was ramping up its integration with sister brand PruProtect; and introduced the new role of head of franchise to strategise between the two brands.
Priestley added the integration with PruProtect to leverage IFA relationships was "additive" rather than compensation for a decline in specialist health advisers.
