Ellipse has agreed a deal with a children's bereavement charity to provide counselling services for all group life claimants.
The group risk insurer will make a donation to Winston's Wish for every death claim handled and pass on details of its national helpline service to all claimants through scheme trustees.
Ellipse is also sponsoring the Winston's Wish national programme of support for children bereaved through suicide.
A quarter of the calls received by the charity are suicide death related as bereavements following suicide can present additional pressures and pain.
The sponsorship will fund the production and distribution costs of the charity's specialist publication, ‘Beyond the rough rock - supporting a child who has been bereaved through suicide'.
This book, which provides practical help and advice, is sent free of charge to all parents or carers who phone the Winston's Wish national helpline.
And the sponsorship will also contribute towards a residential weekend specifically for children, young people and their family who are bereaved by suicide.
John Ritchie, CEO of Ellipse, explained that the provider wanted to deepen the value of the services it offers.
"The financial benefits our policies provide help the families and dependants of deceased scheme members, but bereavement also throws up problems that no amount of money can solve," he said.
"We don't have the skills in-house to provide therapeutic support, so we are introducing our insured families to an organisation that does.
"Winston's Wish is acknowledged to be the leader in their field, providing real practical, help for bereaved families," he added.
Fiona Talwar-Lomberg, chief executive of Winston's Wish, added that the sponsorship would be valuable in sustaining its services.
