Bright Grey meets 93% of CI claims

clock • 1 min read

Bright Grey paid 93% of critical illness (CI) claims last year, with just 2% declined for non-disclosure.

The average payout was nearly £80,000.

The youngest claimant was 24 years old, while the average claimant age was 42 for men and 41 for women. Three quarters of claims were for cancer.

Bright Grey proposition director Roger Edwards says claims stats only tell part of the story and argues quality of service at claim stage is the real market differentiator.

"It's a traumatic time - a time when we're needed most, so it's vital that advisers consider this aspect and how providers measure up before they make a recommendation," he says.
