Advisers should concentrate more on internet marketing, according to IFA Life.

Philip Calvert, founder of the business and financial social networking website, said that IFAs needed to be continually looking at how they market themselves online as Google reports that internet searches for financial advice are currently above average.

He added: "There's a perception among many financial advisers that once they've got their website up and running they can expect to see new enquiries come flooding in. Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that. Just as you regularly maintain a car to do what you expect, IFAs also need to maintain their websites and their overall internet presence."
