Pacific Life Re has appointed Darren Spriggs, formerly the managing director of AIG Life, as managing director for its European business.
Spriggs will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of Pacific Life Re's Europe business unit as the reinsurer continues to expand globally.
He was previously the managing director of AIG Life, formerly Ageas Protect. He led the business over a number of years, culminating in the successful sale of the company to AIG in 2015 as a going concern.
Pacific Life Re said this appointment will "ensure that we maintain our market-leading position in the UK & Ireland across both Protection and Longevity reinsurance, while continuing to deliver innovative new propositions that grow these markets."
