BIBA to provide Claims Advocacy Service

clock

The British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) has appointed Flaxmans to provide a specialist Claims Advocacy Service to members.

The BIBA Claims Resolution and Advocacy Service gives members access to an initial one hour consultation with Flaxmans, a specialist at resolving complex claims and insurance disputes, free of charge and for preferential rates for any subsequent work.

Flaxmans' skills include insurance law and practice, insurance claims advocacy, litigation support, mediation and management of distressed business risk.

Noting that how a disputed or rejected claim is handled at the outset will have a direct influence on the outcome, Steve Foulsham, head of technical services at BIBA, said: "Problems with insurance claims can occur at any time and for brokers, the key is to recognise a claim that is getting into difficulties and take independent advice sooner rather than later.

"This not only adds considerable value to the brokers service to its clients but can also serve to protect the brokers' reputation at a later date."
