The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has confirmed that Old Mutual Wealth is returning to membership.
Outgoing chairman Paul Evans announced at his Chairman's Dinner last night that Old Mutual was rejoining after giving up its its membership in 2008.
Aegon has announced it was leaving the ABI during September 2015 while Legal & General had left the ABI in 2014.
Aegon said it planned to "put our point of view forward direct" to both the government and regulators, rather than relying on the ABI as its voice
Huw Evans, director general of the ABI, said:‘The long-term savings market is evolving rapidly and the ABI is changing fast to ensure we are fit for the future too.
"Old Mutual will bring a valuable market perspective to our public policy and regulatory work and will help ensure a strong industry voice on key issues.'
