Lutine Assurance Services has signed an agreement with XL Catlin to write speciality life cover.
This cover will target non-standard short tail individual, keyman and scheme business that require a greater degree of underwriting expertise and broader risk appetite.
Andy Coles, business director at Lutine said: "This development significantly broadens our underwriting footprint and will enhance our product offering to our distribution partners.
"This co-operation also gives Lutine the opportunity to grow its affinity channel through partnerships with IFA networks, who have continued demand for niche and specialist protection products."
Lutine now handles speciality life business on behalf of three Lloyd's syndicates: XL Catlin, Amtrust and ANV, together with Bermuda-based Maiden Life.
Coles added: "Harnessing the scale of the wider Ryan Specialty Group will further develop our distribution over the coming year, and our wider underwriting footprint will help to deliver the innovative products our customers are looking for."
