British Friendly has launched a Quote & Apply system for advisers applying for income protection policies for their clients.

The system allows advisers to run a quick quote without logging in and also allows advisrs to see alternative options to tailor quotes to clients' budgets.

It also proivdes the choice of completing Online Medical Questionnaire or opting for a telephone interview for clients.

Advisers can also use live online booking system to schedule tele-interviews to gather further medical evidence.

Meanwhile, directors and partners can now pay their monthly policy premiums from their company or partnership bank account.

British Friendly has also improved the way they price Body Mass Index, which is done on a case-by-case basis.

In November, British Friendly's suite of income protection products went live on the Webline portal.

Iain Clark, marketing and distribution director at British Friendly, said: "Our website is fully responsive with improved navigation and more online tools, giving advisers even more flexibility when making a client application. This means that, alongside our excellent record of paying claims, which was 96.7% in 2014, we can offer advisers and their clients an efficient process to protect their income too."

Kesh Thukaram, owner at Best Insurance, said: "The improvements British Friendly has made to its systems and sales process makes it more adviser friendly than ever. British Friendly already has the product and claims rates to make it very attractive as an income protection provider and the added flexibility and efficient sales process will help us to manage client expectations better and get them on risk quickly."
