Paul Roberts has been appointed head of business development for protection at Old Mutual Wealth, leading the firm's distribution strategy.
Roberts has worked at LifeQuote as head of intermediary distribution since April 2011.
He will join Old Mutual Wealth and complete a handover from Ian Jefferies on 1 September 2015.
Old Mutual Wealth plans to grow its footprint in intermediated protection sales and hired Roberts to "help realise" their plans.
Roberts said: "I am delighted to be joining Old Mutual Wealth at a time when there is such a huge opportunity to build on the existing protection proposition by supplementing the offering with enhanced technology and product innovation."
Tony Harris, head of specialist support at Old Mutual Wealth, said: The business has completed a number of important improvements to the protection proposition recently, including enhancements to Critical Illness cover, which now encompasses all types of heart attack and extended coverage for strokes.
"Old Mutual Wealth has ambitious plans to develop its protection proposition through better use of technology and the introduction of greater product innovation.
"Paul's breadth of experience ensures we have the right leadership in place to deliver on that strategy."
