The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), a USA based non-profit organsiation has launched a London division.
The IICF is funded by insurers and provides grants, volunteer services and leadership initiatives across the UK and is the IICF's first international outpost.
IICF's board in the UK includes:
• Terry Masters, chief executive officer, Aon Re Solutions
• Sally-Anne Etienne, market head life & health U.K. and Ireland at Swiss Re
• Pam Webb, head of the Zurich Community Trust
• Alec Finch, chairman of AFL Insurance Brokers
Founded in 1994 the IICF has contributed $23.5m in grants to charities as well as almost 200,000 volunteer hours.
Other supporting organisations at the launch are Chubb, CNA, Generali, KPMG, Mayer Brown, Prosek Partners, World Broker Network and XL Catlin.
Bill Ross, CEO of IICF, said: "We are thrilled to launch our first international division with the support of an outstanding group of industry leaders."
Gary Petrosino, executive vice president at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies and chairman of IICF's Board of Governors, added: "Our expansion into the U.K. is a monumental occasion for the IICF, as well as for the entire insurance industry.
"Our growth into the international community represents an important evolution in the insurance industry's rich tradition of giving."
