Bupa Health Funding's managing director Dr Damien Marmion will be leaving the company after helping to create the insurer's new 'Customer Care Function.'
The announcement comes amid Bupa's plans for a new, more joined-up service for customers. From April, Bupa will be creating one telephone point of contact for customers for all its products and services.
Richard Bowden, managing director of Bupa UK said: "Damien has made an amazing contribution to Bupa during a 22-year career with us. He has decided this is the right time for him to pursue his next challenge and we all wish him well."
Marmion helped Bupa to grow both in the UK and internationally, through its insurance business in Hong Kong, and setting up Max Bupa Insurance.
He returned to head up Bupa Health Funding in the UK and Bupa said he had "been integral to developing the current reorganisation and continues to champion the changes."
A new role of general manager UK Customer, who will report to the Bupa UK managing director, is being created.
The new customer service function follows Bupa's creation last year of a single sales and marketing function.
