Document designed to get politicians to promote brokers and help constituents with insurance.
The British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) has launched an MP guide to help constituents with insurance and promote the benefits of using a broker.
The trade body said the guide had been developed with the feedback of Parliamentarians and was designed to aid MPs with constituency casework relating to insurance, particularly those that find it difficult to access appropriate cover.
The broker body confirmed that the guide will be sent to all MPs at both their Westminster and constituency offices.
Graeme Trudgill, executive director at Biba, said: "Our members can often help in placing cover for those that fall outside of what is considered a ‘standard risk'.
He commented: "Our Find a Broker service, receives around 400,000 enquiries each year from customers looking for insurance, most of who have struggled to find insurance elsewhere and we hope our guide will encourage MPs to pass constituents onto appropriate brokers."
