Canada Life Group Insurance has launched a YouTube channel hosting in-depth webcasts for both advisers and clients.

The insurer said those looking to better their understanding of group risk will also benefit from the channel's webcasts and playlists.

According to recent Canada Life Group Insurance research, 12% of consumers use social media specifically to research financial products, with 15% of those currently using YouTube.

The launch of the channel will therefore provide a dedicated home for accessible content relating to the Company's group risk products.

With more than one billion unique visits to YouTube each month, Canada Life Group Insurance hopes to reach a wider audience and spread awareness of group risk.

The channel also ensures a cohesive and user-friendly flow of information between Canada Life Group Insurance's other social media platform, Twitter (@CanadaLifeGrpUK).

Paul Avis, Marketing Director of Canada Life Group Insurance, commented: "Social media has an increasingly significant role to play in communicating with both advisers and clients.

"YouTube is a great, user-friendly platform from which to explain group risk and its products. We hope to see lots of subscriptions from advisers looking for jargon-free product advice as well as consumers who wish to learn more about the benefits offered by their employer."
