The COVER Excellence Awards 2013 were held last week at the Victoria Park Plaza in London to recognise exceptional protection and health insurance products, providers and intermediaries.
Some of the categories were very tight for this year's COVER awards. The judges said that the quality of submissions and level of interest had been higher than in previous years making competition really fierce.
A double award win went to Westfield Health. The private medical insurer took home trophies for best cash plan provider and best service.
The coveted Outstanding Individual Achievement award went to Alan Lakey, senior partner of Highclere Financial Services and director of CIExpert.
The judges commended Alan's work on CIExpert saying "the winner of this award saw the coming to fruition of several years of individual behind the scenes work, overcoming several setbacks, to bring to the IFA market a valuable new resource, clearing a large measure of confusion over the comparison of critical illness policies and hosting the industries historical library of past products."
