One-in-three mortgage broker firms are planning to recruit new staff before the end of the year, according to COVER's sister publication Mortgage Solutions.

With the mortgage market going from strength to strength our poll asked brokers what changes they were looking to make to their business in the second half of the year.

A third (32%) said that recruiting new staff was the priority for the next six months with 22% of respondents looking to upgrade their website and expand their online presence.

A further 18% of brokers said that increasing GI and protection sales was their target for the year while 14% wanted to delve into their contacts book and strengthen relationships with existing clients.

Around one-in-ten said that they planned to buy more case leads to take advantage of the growing market while just 3% said forming better relationships with packagers was their aim for the rest of 2013.
