FirstAssist Insurance Services has launched two new insurance products, Surgery Cash Plan and Simple Critical Illness.

The insurer, a supplier of white label products to affinity partners, said it was adding ‘depth' to its portfolio of health, life and accident insurance propositions in response to customers' changing needs.

Surgery Cash Plan provides cash if a customer requires any type of medically necessary in-patient or day surgery.

The amount of benefit payable depends on the severity of the operation and typical recovery period, with a maximum benefit of £10,000 payable for the most complex procedures.

Simple Critical Illness provides a tax-free lump sum pay-out if a customer is diagnosed with one of the main six critical conditions, such as a heart attack, stroke or cancer.

Simple Critical Illness makes it easy for customers to take out, with a simple application process, with no medical examination or GP referral.

Alistair Hardie, Chief Executive at FirstAssist Insurance Services, said: "The launch of these two products adds depth to our growing portfolio of health, life and accident insurance propositions in response to customers' changing needs.

"Our experience so far has been very positive with a number of partners already lined-up to take advantage of the opportunities these new products bring. Surgery Cash Plan is working especially well as an up-sell product where a customer has existing accident cover or insurance protection." .
