PruProtect has released an offline app for advisers, aimed at both adviser education and customer needs assessment.
Built through adviser input, the app provides a summary of plan details and options that advisers can use either for their own education or in front of clients as well as a generic tool to determine cover levels and products to meet client needs.
Built for the Apple platform only at present, as all PruProtect account managers work with iPads, although an android version will follow, advisers are able to pre populate the app with their own working perameters and future builds will integrate with PruProtects quote and apply systems.
Kelly Thomas, head of marketing at PruProtect, said: "The next step is to speak to the compliance networks. Once we have feedback on this app we will build an online function linked to this app so advisers will not have to rekey data.
"We are seeing a lot of new entrants to protection markets, both wealth specialists and as a consequence of the RDR, so we need a tool to help advisers."
Key factors of the app include:
Product types and options
Cover levels and attitude to risk
Assessing existing cover and highlighting gaps
Generating a pdf report for clients
Commenting on the app, Roy McLoughlin, partner at Master Adviser said: "Any system that allows people to look at protection in a clear and coherent way is to be welcomed. This subject still confuses many whilst paradoxically there is an acceptance that it needs to be looked at and reviewed."
