Passport2Health has included cancer cover in its policies.
The cancer cover is limited to a maximum lifetime benefit of £50,000 per person and the provider will work with policyholders' chosen specialists on treatment options.
Passport2Health said it would ensure policyholders were consistently aware of the funds available and the costs of any proposed treatment, and if necessary, would help with transition to and from the care of the NHS.
The added cover includes diagnostics, surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and can also offer advanced therapeutics, stem cell therapy and bone marrow transplant.
James Begley, chief executive of Passport2Health, said: "We have listened to feedback and are aiming to provide additional peace of mind. If a person of their loved one is diagnosed with cancer, it will clearly be a worrying time."
Passport2Health will offer cancer treatment through the NHS or in a private hospital in the UK, or depending on the treatment recommended, at one of the provider's approved hospitals abroad.
