Health Shield has launched a health cash plan to provide affordable benefits for small and medium-sized businesses.
Elements and Elements Plus, which will go on the market from January 2013, will offer SMEs a cost-effective healthcare benefit option.
The plan, which costs £1.35 a week for each employee, will provide intermediaries with an alternative scheme for companies with three employees or more.
Philip Wood, executive director of sales and marketing at Health Shield, said: "Providing intermediaries and businesses with a wide range of voluntary and company-sponsored schemes is essential.
"We have carefully developed these products to meet the needs of people, whatever the shape and size of their business. In a difficult economic climate, we are confident this will provide an invaluable and affordable option for those companies looking to introduce a health cash plan that covers the cost of everyday healthcare."
The product covers treatments including dental, optical, chiropody, specialist consultations and health screenings.
A 24-hour GP helpline and an employee assistance programme (EAP), which includes face-to-face counseling, are also available on the scheme.
The friendly society has other product launches in the pipeline for 2013, as it aims to strengthen its portfolio offering.
