Aviva has swooped to appoint a new head of fraud for underwriting, pricing and product to boost front-end fraud detection.
The insurer has unveiled Anne Green for the role in a bid to clamp down on fraud "across the insurance lifecycle".
According to Aviva, Ms Green has garnered expertise in developing and introducing fraud strategies within financial services and has previously delivered anti-bribery and corruption policies.
She has more than 20 years' experience working with the likes of Bupa, RBS, Experian and HSBC.
Speaking about the appointment, Axel Schmidt, UKGI chief underwriting officer, said: "We have created this new role within underwriting, pricing and product, bringing together one team to place stronger emphasis on increasing our commitment to front end fraud detection.
"Reducing the risk of deliberate non-disclosure or misrepresentation of material facts at the earliest opportunity means we can ensure that premiums adequately reflect the risk, manage our risk exposure and protect the interests of our honest customers."
He added: ""Under Anne's leadership, her team will work closely with Aviva's claims fraud team, creating a holistic approach across claims and underwriting which will help us leverage our expertise and learnings to ensure effective and consistent fraud reduction across the business."
