Aviva is now accepting faxed and emailed copies of application and claims forms for its international private medical insurance (IPMI) offering.
It is also creating an international sales team and is reducing the amount of members required for medical history disregarded underwriting from 15 to 10 members.
The moves are part of a range of improvements being introducing by the provider which it says are designed to make it easier for intermediaries to do business with them.
It is aiming to speed up both the application and claims processes by accepting faxed or emailed copies of the forms.
Original application forms and the direct debit mandate can then be sent at a later stage with the process enabling clients to go on risk the day the copy is received.
The new underwriting terms are now available on all new business, while the team offers advice and support on individual and SME business, from quotation stage through to renewal.
Teresa Rogers, international sales and marketing manager at Aviva UK Health said: "We want to make it easy for intermediaries to do business with us and we've been gathering feedback to help us do just this.
"We're committed to continue growing our IPMI market share and intermediated business plays a key part in this. These improvements are just the first of many we're introducing," she added.
