Medicals Direct acquires competitor Medibureau

Medicals Direct Group has bought key competitor, City of London based, Medibureau for an undisclosed sum.

Established in 2000, Medibureau arranges medicals and pathology testing for a life insurers, undertakes medical evidence collection and body fluid analysis, handles the medical aspect of claims on behalf of insurers and provides absence management services to a number of corporate clients.

Mike Benton, Medicals Direct CEO, said:"The synergies in services and client base make Medibureau a natural fit for us; of particular note is the potential for service enhancements its high calibre proprietary software and systems will bring when integrated with our own technology."

"We are developing plans to ensure that this acquisition delivers a major contribution to the group's performance and fully meets our exacting standards."

The latest acquisitions will take group annual turnover towards £30 million.
