Aviva and Legal & General are to provide life and general insurance products for Barclays Bank UK Retail customers.
The arrangement sees Legal & General providing family and mortgage life assurance and critical illness protection cover on an advised basis.
This is in addition to L&G's current mortgage protection distribution arrangement the insurer has had with Barclays since 2001.
Aviva will provide life assurance and personal accident products on a non-advised basis.
Barclays customers will be able to choose life assurance, over 50s life assurance and personal accident insurance through the bank's branch network, online or over the telephone.
This is in addition to Aviva's existing general insurance agreements with Barclays.
Commenting on the partnership, Chris Last, managing director at Legal & General Bank & Building Society Distribution said: "Barclays is a key strategic partner for us, and we have worked together for many years.
"So it is a great pleasure to build on our strong relationship with Barclays by providing family, as well as mortgage protection products to its retail customers on an advised basis."
Ant Middle, UK Director of Strategic Partnerships, Aviva, said: "We have proven capabilities and expertise in helping people protect themselves and their loved ones. In growing our relationship with Barclays, we will provide a simple way for its customers to buy life and personal accident insurance in way that suits their individual needs."
