Friends Life has produced two new guides to help advisers to make the best use of social media.
The guides, both a follow on from a recent online seminar and a selling techniques video for advisers, demonstrate the use of Twitter and other social media and highlight how they can aid adviser marketing.
It is hoped that the guides generate new business opportunities for IFAs as well as enabling them to keep in touch with existing clients.
Advisers are shown how tweets of no more than 140 characters can be used to drive new traffic to websites or interact with new and existing clients. The guides also explore how building a Facebook community can help build rapport with customers.
Jamie McIver, director of protection sales at Friends Life, said: "In an era when social media is at everyone's fingertips, now is the perfect time for us to explore the best ways that IFAs can benefit from engaging with it.
"We are excited about these guides and hope that they will offer valuable advice to those wishing to branch out into the world of social media and take advantage of the new business opportunities that it can offer."
The guides can be accessed through the Friends Life dedicated adviser site.
