British citizens temporarily living abroad can benefit from Western Provident Association's (WPA) newly launched health insurance range.
Diplomat, Emissary, and Governor all include evacuation and repatriation back to the UK if needed, plus worldwide cover of up to £50,000 pa for a period of 120 days. Subscribers have access to a worldwide, multi-lingual medical co-ordination centre to arrange help at any time.
WPA said if the injury was serious enough to require UK treatment then the policyholders would be flown back to the UK with a doctor and nurse, as well as provided with an ambulance at both ends of the journey.
David Ashdown, director at WPA, said: "Our international health insurance plans have been launched against a backdrop of increased demand for international cover by the growing number of British people temporarily living and working abroad."
Diplomat carries a monthly premium of £29.35 for those aged between 30 and 34. It includes cover for in-patient costs, day case treatment, CT, and MRI scans, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and a cash benefit for up to 10 nights in hospital. The policy also pays for a parent accompanying an insured child for the time they are in hospital. Physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic treatments are also covered.
Emissary is priced at £43.17 pm for those aged between 30 and 34 Additional benefits to those on Diplomat include more extensive out-patient care including GP consultations, investigations and treatment, private ambulance costs and 28 days per year nursing cover at home. Complementary treatments such as homeopathy and acupuncture also come as part of the package.
Governor, the most comprehensive policy of the three, carries a monthly premium of £54.68 for those aged between 30 and 34. Additional benefits include cover for routine optical treatments, up to £3,500 for routine treatment and any complications during pregnancy, emergency dental care, and up to £20,000 personal accident cover.
Ashdown added: "IFAs can now offer their international clients, both individual and corporate, a choice of three levels of cover to suit every need."
