COVER and Legal & General will be hosting an Adviser Academy on business protection to give advisers the tools and confidence to discuss and recommend these policies.
The workshop is an interactive training session and will be an introduction to business protection for advisers either new to this market or who want to grow the volumes of business they place.
The workshop will take place on the 18th of May and further details to attend can be found HERE
Richard Kateley head of specialist protection at Legal & General [pictured] said: "The main reason that we wanted to put together this Adviser Academy is that I have a passion for business protection. It presents a great opportunity for advisers to get into a new and diverse marketplace.
"We have the skills to help advisers so the event will be an education piece. We decided to work with COVER magazine on this because Legal & General and COVER are two leading brands in the protection market who can help raise awareness and help advisers take on more business and grow the marketplace."
Legal & General has previously carried out business protection training sessions throughout the UK.
Kateley said: "One big piece of feedback we receive from advisers on our business protection training course is that we are a provider who is doing something [positive for the market] without bashing on about our own product.
"It's a true training session, its CII accredited, we are talking about the wider marketplace and there is little about products.
"Back to advisers, it's not a marketplace they've got into and many advisers think it's more complicated than it is. There are tax, trust and legal elements to be aware of but essentially business protection is term assurance with a trust.
"It's not a new way of selling, it's fundamentally the same as family protection but it involves businesses and for many advisers, they are aiming at a brand new marketplace. "
