Aetna International has upgraded its member support program with the addition of safety and security features provided by specialist crisis management company red24.
red24's global team will provide 24/7 country risk information and support services to both individual and group Aetna members.
Personalised and expert safety advice can be delivered in real-time in the event of political unrest, natural hazards, travel disruption, and hostile situations.
The red24 service is provided as standard to all new and renewing Aetna individual and group members globally from 1st January 2016 via the company's new Aetna Pioneer and Aetna Summit plans.
A year-round telephone advice and information service will be available to all members.
Those on higher level plans will be able to access a response service providing emergency evacuation in life-threatening situations.
David Healy, general manager, Europe at Aetna International said "Aetna already provides its members with 24-hour seamless support for pre-trip planning, as well as before, during and after medical treatment.
"The addition of red24's service provides a valuable extension of our services for members locating to higher-risk environments."
