Scottish Widows has launched a new income protection (IP) product, aiming to help close the gender protection gap.
The product offers an immediate income payment which a customer will receive whilst a claim is still being assessed, provided a GP note is supplied and once the deferred period has passed. Scottish Widows said it will not decline an IP application for mental health without an underwriting review conducted by a real person, rather than artificial intelligence.
