AIG Life has announced that Kevin Russ is now the technical manager for AIG Life's marketing team.
He will be boosting the insurer's technical support for financial advisers in areas such as trusts, business protection and relevant life insurance.
He comes to AIG Life from Friends Life where he was also technical manager, and has worked in the UK financial services industry for over 20 years.
Friends Life's merger with Aviva was approved by shareholders in March 2015, with 1,500 staff to leave their posts at Friends Life as a result.
Russ said: "I am now looking forward to a new challenge with AIG Life and supporting the establishment of their new brand.
"I am confident that my approach to business will work well with the new business."
Steve Casey, head of marketing & propositions at AIG Life, said of Kevin's arrival: "I am delighted that an expert with the gravitas of Kevin has joined us.
"He brings a wealth of experience and will add to our key proposition of being easy to do business with."
