Unum UK has updated its Additional Leave policy to enhance pregnancy loss support for staff, with a new section available on its Pregnancy Loss Leave.

Unum's Employee Consultative Group (ECG) had asked for improved resources, better signposting and more support for managers. As part of the updated support, Unum has made practical guidance available for managers around having sensitive conversations, with links to Unum's Help@hand app and external specialist support groups being added. Additionally, Unum has signed the Miscarriage Association's pregnancy loss pledge to support all staff who suffer or are affected by baby loss prior to 24 weeks of pregnancy.
