The Exeter has announced that AXA PPP healthcare will manage all aspects of its private medical insurance claims processing for both new and existing business from 1st November 2016.
The Exeter will continue to operate independently and both insurers will compete as normal in the UK individual private medical insurance market.
The insurer said the "agreement will bring many benefits to members including better access to the claims service at evenings and weekends through longer opening hours."
Potential economies of scale anticipated as a result of the agreement may help offset the impact of medical inflation and control annual premium increases, the insurer also said.
Andy Chapman CEO of The Exeter [pictured] said: "This is an important development and one which demonstrates our commitment to our members and the PMI market."
"We're determined to continually enhance our proposition and deliver a market leading service.
"This next important step will deliver improved access and anticipated economies of scale to help us offset the impact of medical inflation in annual premium reviews."
