Intermediaries can now offer AXA PPP healthcare's virtual private GP service Doctor@Hand to SME and individual clients.
The service enables patients to have secure video and telephone consultations with a UK GP at a time and location that suits them.
It was previously only available to large corporate clients.
Doctor@Hand is available to SME and individual clients through their AXA PPP healthcare health insurance plans.
Both the Business Health Select plan for SMEs and the Personal Health plan for individuals offer £500 per year for Doctor@Hand consultations as a part of the Extended Cover option.
At £50 per single consultation, members could have up to 10 consultations per year.
Paul Moulton, intermediary distribution director for AXA PPP healthcare, said: "Following the successful launch of Doctor@Hand to our large corporate clients, we are delighted to extend this state-of-the art service to SMEs and individuals.
"With continuing high levels of demand for NHS GP services, the introduction of Doctor@Hand is a welcome alternative, ensuring busy people don't put off going to the doctor unnecessarily and enabling them to secure a speedy consultation and diagnosis.
"Intermediaries are well placed to advise SME and individual clients of the benefits offered by Doctor@Hand. The availability of this new service provides them with an excellent opportunity to extend their conversation into a new area of healthcare and, in turn, strengthen their relationships with clients."
Moulton concluded: "For intermediaries looking to grow and protect their SME and individual client bases, extending their offer to include advice on the benefits of services such as Doctor@Hand will help to cement their relationships by ensuring their clients know of and can access the latest products and services for their health and wellbeing."
