AXA PPP healthcare has opened a new telephone based sales centre to help intermediaries grow their private medical insurance businesses.
The health insurer has brought together a team of 20 staff in Bristol to support intermediaries to drive new business and opportunities to quote.
The insurer said the centre is geared at intermediaries who are new to health insurance, have lost touch with the market or are looking to develop their healthcare business.
The Hub will also be encouraging intermediaries who have terms of business with AXA PPP healthcare but, for one reason or another, rarely advise on healthcare to rekindle their interest in the market.
Paul Moulton, intermediary distribution director for AXA PPP healthcare, said: "There is a strong rationale for health in intermediaries' portfolios and having the know-how and confidence to advise on it can help them build stronger relationships with clients by broadening the conversation to include health and, for their employer-paid schemes, performance and productivity.
He added: "In a crowded market, intermediaries can stand out by demonstrating they understand what's needed to protect their clients' health and wellbeing."
Moulton concluded: "Many of the intermediaries we've asked who don't advise on health insurance tell us that they don't have the information they need.
"By launching the Bristol Hub, we're confident we can go a long way to overcoming this obstacle - and make it easier for them to grow their healthcare business. We believe there's never been a more important time for intermediaries to add or develop healthcare into their portfolio."
Meanwhile AXA PPP healthcare's SME Sales and Service Centre based in Leicester will continue to serve those intermediaries with whom it has long standing relationships.
Those with well-established personal business will continue to be served by teams based in Bournemouth and Tunbridge Wells.
