APRIL UK has launched ‘Lifestyle Protector', an accident and sickness plan with a two-year moratorium instead of medical underwriting.
It requires no proof of earnings at point of sale or as part of the claims process and there are no exclusions linked to occupation or sporting activities.
The age at which a person takes out the Lifestyle Protector is the age on which the policy premium will always be based, never increasing as a result of someone ageing.
The plan is open to all individuals employed for a minimum of 16 hours a week, or to those who are self-employed.
Customers can choose a monthly benefit of up to £1,500. This can be paid for a period of 12 months, with back-to-day-one waiting periods of 14 and 30 days.
Additional add-ons include critical illness cover (£10,000), unemployment cover (£10,000) and life insurance, all of which extend the inherent flexibility of the policy.
The policy also includes access to Best Doctors' second opinion service and 25% off Bupa's comprehensive range of health assessments.
Isaac Lam, business development director at April UK said, said, "We set out to create a simple, inclusive protection solution that would appeal to a wide audience. With the Lifestyle Protector, we believe we've achieved this, offering essential accident and sickness cover at competitive prices".
