The Seven Families campaign is preparing for its #ForAllTheCarers action day with support from firms in the protection industry.
The campaign's Just Giving page has reached almost £5,000, in addition to money given from insurers and advisers.
Seven Families is also planning a radio campaign to further raise awareness among the public.
Roger Edwards, independent marketing consultant, said: "The 7 Families Campaign proves that the protection industry can truly engage with consumers.
"My view is that a focus on this kind of engagement is essential for the future of protection in the UK.
"Social media of course is all about engagement and I hope that the action day sends a message to those financial services providers that still doubt the power of social, that it's time to stop procrastinating and to start engaging."
Chris Henderson, digital marketing manager at LifeSearch, said: The action day is an excellent idea and we're pleased to be supporting it.
"We have already set up a range of content to go out using the assets provided and will also be sharing the posts from Seven Families.
"The team are very much behind the project and we hope tomorrow is successful in helping to get the messages across to consumers."
Peter Le Beau, spokesperson for Seven Families, said: "We really hope the industry gets behind the campaign tomorrow, not just the funders and intermediary firms but as many people as possible.
"Since the project began last year there has been some excellent press coverage and the family videos help to tell a very moving story.
"We are also planning some radio activity next month to follow up on the momentum from the action day.
"The Just Giving page has almost reached £5,000 from additional donations and this money will help us reach more people through radio and social media."
