Legal & General (L&G) has said take-up rates for Healthy Living and Workplace Rewards - part of its Worklife Solutions package of group income protection (GIP) were ‘very low' and are being withdrawn.
Workplace Rewards was a range of shopping discounts and Healthy Living was an online health assessment facility - both available to GIP clients and their employees.
These are the only benefits that are being withdrawn as the insurer said it wishes to focus on its Emplyee Assistance Programme.
The Workplace Rewards benefit will be available until 31 December 2014.
The Healthy Living service This service will be open for new registrations until 31 March 2015.
Employees that have registered before this date will continue to have access for a minimum of 12 weeks.
Rosy Anand, marketing and E commerce director, workplace savings at L&G said: "After reviewing take-up levels, we've decided to discontinue these two benefits and focus on our employee assistance programme, designed to help scheme members deal with issues and challenges in their everyday life, which has significantly higher usage rates."
