Aetna International & Starr Companies have launched the UltraCare Health Plan to provide international private medical insurance (IPMI) coverage for both Chinese nationals and expatriates based in China.
Four packages will offer health plans which include an optional United States of America offering under the UltraCare brand.
The plan includes cancer treatment including palliative care, congenital conditions, vision and hearing tests as well as dental and outpatient benefits among the benefits.
Coverage also includes evacuation and repatriation across all four plans and the Comprehensive and elite packages will offer an emergency visit to visit close family members who are critically ill or have died.
The policy holder must be resident in mainland China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) to take out the plan and brokers selling it must be licensed/ registered as brokers with the Chinese regulators. Staff are bilingual and all aspects of UltraCare are handled within China.

UltraCare is underwritten by Starr China and administered by Aetna (Shanghai) Enterprise Service Co. Ltd., part of the Aetna International business.
