Following adviser feedback, ESMI has introduced new products and improved terms across its product range.

ESMI, which offers cover on guaranteed acceptance terms, including those that have been refused cover elsewhere: usually because they have a medical history, has introduced two new levels to its sick pay plan.

It is now offering a £1,000 pm benefit and a £2,000 pm benefit at a cost of £15.60pm and £28.91 pm respectively. This is in addition to the existing £1,500 pm benefit at a cost of £21.68 pm.

Life cover will now pay out £100k from a cost of £19.12 pm. This is in addition to the £50k life cover available from a cost of £9.56 pm.

A new cash compensation product has also been developed, underwritten by Cigna, which awards cash compensation to customers who need surgery.

Clients have complete freedom in how to use this, using it pay for private care or keeping the cash. It pays out up to £20,000 and costs from £24.34 per month.

Travel insurance has also been introduced.
Commenting, Andrew Tripp, managing director for ESMI, said: "The industry may complain about the market not growing, and it won't if people are refused insurance. These products make cover affordable for everyone, even those that can't usually get insurance.

"We've listened to our brokers and we've made our products simpler, more affordable and better."
