Health Shield adds benefit to corporate plans

Cash plan provider Health Shield has launched a new home assistance benefit.

The Friendly Society has become the first health cash plan provider to include the benefit in its product portfolio, providing enhanced cover for corporate members.

The benefit, which will also be rolled out across Tailored schemes later in 2014, covers 14 hours of home assistance cover after a pre-planned hospital stay for two or more nights.

It is available as part of the Corporate scheme across all levels - from Access through to Prestige.

Philip Wood, executive director of sales and marketing at Health Shield, said: "The addition of new benefits is essential in helping to deliver our overall vision and strengthen our relationship with intermediaries."

"We are the first health cash plan provider to include home assistance cover in a Corporate scheme and we intend to broaden its availability during the next 12 months, as we continue to innovate, explore and develop new avenues."
