Bupa International has launched two new regional health insurance plans targeting people living and working in and around Africa.

Insured by Bupa and working with Jubilee Insurance, a domestic provider in Kenya and East Africa, the Bupa Explorer Health Plan and Business Explorer Health Plan are designed for individuals and company employees that live, work and travel around the region.

These plans are designed customers who seek broader coverage than a traditional domestic healthcare plan, but do not have a need for full worldwide health insurance.

Both of the new plans are providing cover across the African continent as well as in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The Explorer plans will include comprehensive in-patient cover, with additional options offering a wide range of out-patient benefits, including optical and dental benefits.

Benefits of the Explorer plan include a full range of health screening providing valuable early detection of conditions such as cancer, and no lifetime limits for eligible treatment for chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes, ensuring continued access to treatment for as long as the customer is on the plan.

Other benefits include cover for eligible treatment for AIDS and HIV, including related conditions and drug therapy.

In addition the product has no maximum age limit for new policyholders or those renewing on the plan.

Dean Pollard, general manager at Bupa International said, "The launch of these products further demonstrates Bupa and Jubilee's commitment to providing access to high quality healthcare in the region for individual members and businesses and their employees."

Nizar Juma chairman at Jubilee Holdings said the relationship with Bupa would enable Jubilee Insurance to meet the growing demand for IPMI, providing a one-stop shop for medical cover to major corporations, private individuals and families in the region.
