Simplyhealth has today announced the launch of its first free Apple and android app to help back pain sufferers.
The Simplyhealth Back Care app, found in the Apple Store and Google PlayTM will provide users with tips and advice on how to maintain a healthy back.
It will also offer suggested exercises for people already suffering with back pain.
Simplyhealth has teamed up with BackCare, the UK's national charity for back and neck pain.
For every download of the app, Simplyhealth pledges to donate £1 to BackCare, up to £120,000.
Clare Lee, head of brand, PR and digital at Simplyhealth said: "With around 80% of people in the UK affected by back pain at some point in their lives1 we wanted to provide a tool that would help people to manage their back pain more effectively.
"Our free back care app has over 20 exercises to help people to cope with their back pain. There's also much more information about how to prevent back pain, at home, work or when out and about.
"Users will also be able to use the app to keep a diary of their back pain, watch videos, form an exercise plan which they can follow and find qualified practitioners in their area."
Dr Brian Hammond, executive chairman of BackCare said: "We are delighted to be working with Simplyhealth. This campaign is a fantastic opportunity for us to reach many more people and promote the importance of a healthy back."
