PruHealth and PruProtect has announced the establishment of a new advisory board for its Vitality programme.
The board, which is a subcomittee of the board of directors for PruHealth and PruProtect, will focus on driving policy around health and wellness, strategic partner development and creating a stronger brand in corporate Britain and for brokers.
Vitality director Nick Read said: "[We are also looking] to assess whether there are any opportunities in the public sector as well, perhaps with the Department of Health and revenue authorities linked to what we do around changing behaviour. "
Double Olympic gold medallist and chairman of the British Olympic Association, Sebastian Coe will become an adviser to the board and a Vitality ambassador.
Read added: "Lord Coe provides an unparalleled breadth of experience around sport and business. We hope he'll add a really exciting twist to this board in getting people engaged with healthy activities and lifestyles. Like Jessica Ennis, who is our other Vitality ambassador, he'll play a very different role. He embraces health and wellness and we think it's a very powerful alliance. With him we can really grow health and wellness in the UK.
"We are looking to enhance our benefits with new features and new partners. A key part of the programme we're looking to develop is around mental wellbeing. It's really striking a chord with corporate Britain at the moment. It's becoming an increasing issue."
