A national physiotherapy network aimed at insurers, solicitors, employers and occupational health professionals has been launched to maximise clinical outcomes for injured parties.
Clinics across the UK have been selected by Health & Case Management Limited (HCML) to form the Innotrex network - mostly to treat those with acute back or general musculoskeletal problems.
Keith Bushnell, chief executive officer for HCML, said: "Our vision is to provide clinical excellence without over-medicalising the claimant's journey. Case managers will remain totally independent so programmes are appropriately managed."
"We know the overall cost of a programme is determined not only by the sessional rate but also the number of sessions required to achieve a successful outcome.
"PMI referrals would normally require four to five treatment sessions, which is half the typical number from GP referrals. Through better-managed care we will offer better service and outcomes to the claimant, speed up recovery and help deliver real value for rehabilitation spends."
The network aims to deliver clinical governance through established relationship with its partner clinics, which will include access to member benefits such as CPD.
The network has access to leading experts in rehabilitation who have advised on its formation and will use technology to enable quicker decision-making and claimant journey.
An evidence-based approach will aim to provide injured parties with clinical outcomes without over-treating to maximise value and achieve optimal case closure durations.
The network will adopt a geographical pricing model that will mean referring customers pay an appropriate price dependent on their location.
