Product news: Exeter Family Friendly tweaks PMI

clock • 1 min read

Exeter Family Friendly has tweaked its PMI products in light of adviser demand.

It has increased the maximum age of applicants accepted under switch underwriting from 65 to 70 for its Health Cover for Me and Health Choices for Me products.

The option will apply to all switchers, regardless of moratorium or fully medically underwritten policy types.
It comes as the mutual has also made changes to application forms in a bid to comply with the Consumer Insurance Act that came into force on 6 April.

Mike O'Brien, head of sales and marketing, said: "On the face of it, this may seem like a small move; but it's more than that. Last year at a PMI event, advisers told us that this simple change would make a big difference."

Richard Collins, PMI adviser at Medischeme, welcomed the move made on the back of adviser feedback.
