All Canada Life's group income protection clients will now have access to its rehabilitation and on site claims team, nearly doubling the amount of employees covered.
The employer and employee visiting programme, ViP, is now available to over 4,100 clients and the number of employees covered has increased from 206,000 to 418,000.
Previously, the insurer required organisations to have a group income protection scheme with a premium of £100,000 or more before they could take advantage of the programme - representing just 6% of all clients.
The service provides an employer visits programme with face-to-face discussions on case specific work, claims strategy and prevention.
In addition, in increasing access to the ViP service, the insurer aims to help clients prevent a claim being needed to be made and where it does need to be made, limit the claim duration. With a focus on rehabilitation and aid recovery the service aims to get employees back to work, faster.
Canada Life director of claims management services Mike Newcombe said: "We have always made it our mission to help the absent employee to return to work and I am delighted that we can now roll the ViP service out to all of our policyholders.
"We believe that unlimited access to a team that knows both the employer and the employee best is fundamental to controlling premiums going forwards - the value of this personal support following a change in life circumstances should not be underestimated."
