Health insurance specialist APRIL UK is targeting £4m worth of new PMI sales through advisers in 2013 and is expanding its broker offering.
The insurer, part of the French based APRIL Group, has recently invested in an online Broker Portal allowing advisers to submit business online and is working to develop a range of new protection plans for the broker market.
Wayne Carter, APRIL UK Sales Director, said: "To ensure broker and customer service standards, to date the firm has limited agencies to a selected number of brokers, which include Chase Templeton, PMI Partners and ActiveQuote."
More recently it has also agreed terms to appear on Right To Health's panel of insurers.
Carter added: "We have had to turn away agency requests as we do not want to fall into the same trap as other insurers who have seen service standards plummet when business has spiked.
"It is important to us that we maintain our high levels of customer service and therefore we have taken measures to control our rate of expansion."
