Bupa has added two BMI Healthcare hospitals to its recognised list for policyholders.

The insurer's members will now have access to the private healthcare provider hospitals BMI Gisburne Park and Lancaster Hospitals, taking the total BMI hospitals in Bupa's network to 69.

Care at the added hospitals includes including physiotherapy, gynaecology, orthopaedics and pharmacy services has been introduced.

Patrick Watt, director of corporate at Bupa Health Funding, said: "The agreement we reached with BMI last year has enabled us to maintain standards of care.

"Giving Bupa members renewed access to BMI Gisburne Park and Lancaster hospitals means that they can benefit from more healthcare in Lancashire."

BMI Healthcare and Bupa signed a long-term agreement in January last year.
